If you do not have pluralistic view to truth of life, then stop reading this article. It is not meant for you. This article is for those who agree that all religions are different paths leading to one God. Closed-mindedness, rigidness, inflexibility, intolerance and ignorance will always be self defeating in the end. Therefore I would encourage you to read this article with an intention to find unifying factor in all religions.
Religion can be a great medication to many weaknesses of mind. Truth in Religion is same as Love of humanity. Truth has to do with wisdom/mind. Love has to do with selflessness/heart. But both Love and Truth are the answer to every single problem that exists, so there is no difference in the two.
Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism and Muslim - all of them are independent social entities with its own events, beliefs, practices, behavior and rituals. Why should we limit ourselves to only one religion or one philosophy and exclude other ideas? Would it not be wise to take the best from every religious philosophy and apply them to our life and to our way of living ? Why should study of God be confined to a single book; rationalized and standardized like corporate practices? Good Globalization would combine growth and progress with heterogeneousness of cultures and beliefs. What makes the world modern and facilitates globalization is mankind's desire to explore new ideas, faiths, beliefs and incorporate them into a global village.
Goodness and power of humanity is always easier to galvanize under a religious banner. Multi religion approach promotes the knowledge of every religion and of every theistic or atheistic philosophy. To be part of a multi-faith society, we don't have to give up anything we believe in. Unfortunately we concentrate only on a few negative aspect of some religions, while ignoring the huge creative and positive aspects which can offer a significant positive contribution into our lives. Like each person, religion also grows, evolves, changes viewpoints and its understanding of the world. As we change and grow, religious definitions and meanings also changes.
Since ancient times, humans have always lived in groups and have fought for control of resources. Before the evolution of nations, religion served to unite societies, and offered them social harmony, justice and equality through religious laws.
Religion and politics is certainly a bad mix. They must remain separate for peaceful co-existence to be realized or rationalized. Recent wars in Afghanistan, East Timor, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sudan and the conflict in the Middle East are all rooted in religion. There can be no argument that global peace is where human existence begins and ends. Without peace, the entire gamut of human achievement is rendered futile and meaningless. War in the name of religion is actually the exploitation of religion by certain vested interests, and the denial of fundamental human freedom that is the cause for wars held in the name of religion.
Only faith and hope in the name of God can convince humanity that war brings progress, and that it is in their own interest to choose war over peace. Religion also needs to get in sync with the times and get rid of superstitions and dogmas.
Social, political and economic dynamics of the world today are so deeply interwoven and so interdependent that religion cannot be considered a factor in isolation, but has to be viewed in conjunction with issues like education, employment, technology and trade. Religion can be a great agent to bring together people and make a greater chance of peace than ever before.
A multi-religion society is like a family. More effort or money one pays in co-existance, one can expect to get it five fold back in combined tangible and intangible forms in family life, health, happiness, jobs and business.
