Who are the worst polluting countries of our world, based on the highest overall annual carbon dioxide emissions? (in all forms of industry and fossil fuel consumption)

Naturally, Countries with biggest industries, biggest production capabilities and the biggest populations top the lists. Top five are China, USA, Russia, India and Japan.

China - the world’s number one, or most polluting country as it emits 6,018 million tonnes of greenhouse gases each year. China also has world's largest population. However, in terms of per capita emissions China is ranked 44th in the world, emitting 4.5 tonne (per person).

India - the second highest populated country in the world. India is is becoming heavily industrialized and is undergoing considerable growth in production and exports. India emits 1,293 million tonne of carbon dioxide emission. The average person in India emits just 1.16 tonne per person annually.
