Frugal living is really not a sacrifice. My great grandmother lived with much less resources and bigger families and did much better. Living frugally is more relaxed way of living. Here are some tips:

(1) Do Things Yourself. Cut eating out. Cook for your family. Are you sure you need maids or nannies? Are they necessities or just for mere conveniences. Whenever you go out - Take lunch, snacks and drinks from home. In every family trip, I always take everyone's favorite drink from the fridge. Dont drink alcoholic or carbonated beverages. It is not necessary to have best or the perfection for everything. Settle for cost effective things. Use your creativity to improve things.

(2) Save All Condiments - Tissues, Tomato Ketchup Sachets, Pickle Samples. Never throw anything that could be recycled. See if you can get discount coupons, free sample or free things that come with products. Save coins! Do not spend coins, save them in a piggy bank!

(3) Be a Smart Spender. Live within your means. Save money for future. Focus on your needs and not your wants, Dont be an impulsive buyer. Never pay full price. Always negotiate. However, never buy crummy product. If it isn't worth a rupee, don't waste your rupee.

(4) Shutdown Marketing Noise in your life - Dont be addicted to technology. Don't stockpile things. Don't be dazzled with new advertisements or products . Walk more, drive less! Use buses/metro when you can. Use all things until they wear out. Like automobile or cell phone, use it till its dead!
