What if you heard that Government has decided to put a policeman at the end of every street, who would have the right to walk into anyone's house, anytime; and have the liberty to put listening devices into your home to see what your daughter, sister, mother, is talking and writing?! Will it be an irrational suspicion if we expect anti-social people from these spies will interfere/manipulate and misuse their power? |
Well... this unconstitutional decision against the freedom of a citizen should have obviously cause an alarm BUT unfortunately, no one is paying attention to the large industrial scale spying that various governments are doing on their citizens. Yes, its true, the spies are reading your emails and hearing your phone calls! They are also scanning your internet chats, stalking your Face-book friends, following your GPS, reading BBM Messages, Tracking your Property Documents, Financial Activities, Voter Registration, Bank Transactions and also reading your Tax Documents.

US National Security Agency (NSA) now admits spying on 75% of U.S. Internet traffic: Emails, texts, voice calls. The head of the NSA has called it a ‘Noble’ mission to protect the nation. “The future of this country depends on our ability to defend against cyber attacks and terrorist threats, and we need the tools to do it", said General Keith Alexander, chief of the NSA.
Is this not unnecessary intrusion into a law abiding citizen's life? Is this not an attack on freedom of speech and an invasion of privacy? Snowden’s disclosures raised fundamental issue, “Privacy and freedom from state intrusion are important for everyone. You can’t just scream ‘Terrorism’ use it as an excuse for snooping?”
Is one's home not a “Zone of privacy"? Is your right to do as you please within your house is also now taken away? Is this indiscriminate spying really justified on the excuse of national security? What do you think? |
